Getting to Montenegro
Two airports, direct flights from Paris, and a tip: arrive at one airport, leave from the other.

Two airports serve the country: Tivat for the coast and Podgorica for the interior. Direct flights from France leave from Paris; from elsewhere in France, you need to connect through a hub.
| Route | Airline | Duration | Return fare observed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paris-Orly → Tivat (TIV) | Transavia | ≈ 2 h 25 | €68 to €320 |
| Paris-Beauvais → Podgorica (TGD) | Wizz Air | ≈ 2 h 30 | €55 to €280 |
| Lyon → Tivat | Via Paris | 5 to 6 h | €180 to €400 |
| Marseille → Tivat | Via Vienna or Istanbul (Austrian, Turkish) | 6 to 8 h | €220 to €450 |
Indicative prices. Prices and routes come from comparison sites (April 2026) and should be checked for your dates. Service seasons vary: a route may not operate all year. In July and August, last-minute prices reach €250 to €350.
Which airport should you choose?
- Tivat (TIV): about 20 min from Kotor, for the bay. Shuttle for about €5.
- Podgorica (TGD): convenient for Lake Skadar and for heading up to Durmitor.
- Both (open-jaw): arriving in Tivat and leaving from Podgorica, or the reverse, saves a return drive of about four hours. It means booking two one-way tickets, often with two different airlines. Compare with a standard return before you decide.
Arriving via Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik, in Croatia, is a common alternative for the Bay of Kotor, about 90 km away. Allow time at the border, especially in summer: going from Croatia into Montenegro and back again, you cross an external Schengen border. Entry requirements for Montenegro are described on the Practical information page.
Once you are there
- Tivat → Kotor shuttle: about 20 minutes, about €5.
- Taxi: agree on the price before getting in.
- Rental car: pick it up at the airport. See Budget.
